Shepherd’s Farm Neuenkirchen

The idyllic shepherd's farm was built according to a historical model, with a large sheepfold for the typical heathland sheep - the Heidschnucke.The flock of sheep is usually driven to the farm around 5:30 p.m. from May to October.

From around 5:30 p.m., the shepherd Franz drives the Schnuck herd home with his dogs. It is a great experience when the herd arrives on the farm and pushes onto the pen and into the stable. The farm shop on the Schäferhof is open from 5 p.m. Products related to Schnucke as well as other regional products and typical souvenirs can be purchased there.The association Schäferhof Neuenkirchen e.V. was founded in 1976 by citizens, the municipality and the tourist office in order to maintain and preserve the natural interrelationships between heath and heather, the "Lüneburg Heath".More detailed information:schaeferhof-neuenkirchen.de

Barbecue at the Schäferhof every Wednesday from 5 p.m. in summer. There are delicious Schnuckenbratwurst and Schnuckenburger.
