In 1540 the first mention of a wooden chapel without altar equipment and decorations was made. In 1792 a stone church was finally built in Plessa. However, this church, which was already equipped with an organ, fell victim to a devastating village fire a few years later on October 25, 1811. Finally, in 1814, the church building, which has been preserved to this day, was erected.
