On the 6 km long Taennchel summit ridge there are several interesting rock formations with suspected prehistoric cult sites, especially the remains of the "Heathen Wall" (Mur païen), a 2.3 km long fortification of unknown age.
In some places the path goes directly along it.

The “Heidenmauer” stretches over the ridge, and the beautiful hiking trail runs more or less parallel to it.

There are two different walls: the Mur païen, 2.3km long, whose origin some attribute to the Celts, others date to pre-Roman or Roman times, some to the Middle Ages. What is proven is: nothing.
And there is a more recent border wall, probably from the 15th century, that runs between the Rocher des Géants and the Carrefour du Rotzel.

        The pagan wall
It is a dry stone wall that stretches for 2.3 kilometers between Taennchel and the Rocher des Géants. Some attribute it to the Celtic period, others to the Middle Ages. The function is also uncertain, although it was a demarcation or a fortification wall.
        The mystery remains.
