The Waterhuus - Water Tower Museum has been open to curious and knowledge-hungry people since 2023. In an excellent tour tailored to a maximum of 15 visitors - lasting approx. 1½ hours - you can learn just about EVERYTHING about Borkum's water supply from the past to the present day. The old water tower was renovated with remarkable effort by the non-profit organization “Watertoorn Börkum e.V.” listed as a historical monument: thumbs up 👍! A visit is simply a MUST 🙂...

Watertoorn and Waterhuus Borkum - new very interesting museum! The information screens are started with the mobile phone when you connect to the museum's own WiFi, call up the museum link (scan both via QR CODE) and enter the respective number (single digit) on the screen.
The QR codes can be found on the walls. Bring time - at least 1 hour - it's worth it.
Beautiful 360° view from the window at the top.

The Borkum water tower, built in 1900, was an important pillar of the drinking water supply on the island of Borkum for decades. The water tower was shut down in 1970 when the company switched to modern pump technology.
