Skelbo Castle is the ruin of a 14th-century hilltop castle near Dornoch on the high banks of Loch Fleet in Highland, Scotland. The still preserved wall has the best condition on the north side of the castle. Skelbo Castle is considered a Scheduled Monument. 1308 King Robert I took a former castle at this point, which belonged to the clan Sutherland. In 1529 William Sutherland from Duffus bought the castle. In the 16th century, after the castle was built a house in the 20th century, the entire property was abandoned as a home.
The last owner of the castle was the Russian Mikahail de Buar († 2009). He left no will and his estate is being quarreled in Russia in court.

Ate ruin, but the really special thing here is the view of Loch Fleet and the seals on the sandbars. Be sure to bring binoculars
