Please check local regulations for: Kirstenmühle-Schanzenbachtal
The Schanzenmühle is one of seven mills in the Schanzenbachtal and also the gem of Tautendorf, a 60-person town near Leisnig.
In 1558 it was mentioned for the first time. Until 1922, the mill was still powered by a wooden water wheel, after which a Francis turbine replaced the mill wheel. A 24 hp single-cylinder diesel engine followed in 1934. Grain was ground into flour commercially here until 1975, then until 1990 only for personal use.

The Schanzenbachtal is great for hiking, with the mills as the icing on the cake.
