Tin Trail in Naturpark Fichtelgebirge

The "Geo-Adventure Trail" is a theme trail of the GEOPARK Bayern-Böhmen, past former soap factories that date back to the 14th century. In these pits, the miners washed the tin ore from the deposits of the streams for centuries. The idyllically located Schwarzweiher served as a water reservoir for the pewter wash. The turning point of the circular route is the "Tin Ore Research Plant Werra". The uranium ore mine at Rudolfstein was operated under this code name in the 1950s. Display boards on site provide information about the history of the mine. At 17 locations along the trail, large-format, attractive display boards explain the cultural history of tin and its extraction at the foot of the Rudolfstein.
