The Galerie Véro-Dodat, built in 1826 by two investors, is a neoclassical gallery adorned with columns, mirrors, marble, and luminous globes. It owes its initial success to the Messageries Laffitte and Gaillard, which attracted travelers and strollers, as well as to the Aubert boutique, famous for its caricatures by Daumier and Gavarni.
After its decline during the Second Empire, the gallery lost its appeal but retained its Belle Époque charm. Restored in 1997, it now houses art galleries, fashion boutiques, a luthier, and a period brasserie, and remains a richly decorated and historic venue.
