The descent from there leads past the idyllic rafting pond to Sachsenbrunn with its centuries-old dancing linden tree.This pond was once used to dam up water so that wood could be floated down into the valley when it was drained.

From here, several paths lead up towards the Rennsteig Trail. The descent from there leads past the idyllic rafting pond to Sachsenbrunn with its centuries-old dancing linden tree.

Beautifully situated pond in the middle of the forest with seating. Here branches off several ways. However, only one goes downhill to Sachsenbrunn, the rest all uphill.
