In August 1912, the people of Grimma celebrated a special festival at their market, as they ceremoniously inaugurated their new market fountain. The sculptor Paul Pils created a graceful female figure who, with her apple in her right hand, can undoubtedly be addressed as Eve. The Eve fountain experienced ups and downs, was dismantled in the meantime and the beautiful naked Eve was always a topic of conversation...
