The bunkers make the beach rather ugly, but it's a bit of history.
December 12, 2019
The bunkers are remnants of the Second World War, when the Germans defended the coast here. They are in varying states, sometimes relatively intact, sometimes half sunk in the sand, and can be found not only here, but in many other places on the beach.

Like on the west coast near Løkken or Hirtshals, the massive concrete bunkers here lie crookedly on the beach, as if thrown by giants. A somewhat dystopian sight. One can climb inside and up, rejoicing in our time (unfortunately limited to this time in 2025) and praying that it stays that way. The bunkers in Grederikshavn can be viewed in their original condition, even with the original guns, at the Bangsbo Fort and Bunker Museum. Here, guarded by a flock of sheep, they are a legacy of their military use.
