The original “Vippefyr”, the first of its kind in Denmark, was built in 1627. In the same place today there is a true-to-original copy built by Carl Locher in 1913 for the 500th anniversary of Skagen and restored in 1958 (Wiki).

Skagen Vippefyr was a beacon in Skagen on the Danish island of Vendsyssel-Thy. The original “Vippefyr”, the first of its kind in Denmark, was built in 1627.
