The old hydroelectric power plant in the Lohmen Gorge, nestled mystically in the forest, is still in operation. The beautiful Lohmen Gorge is located in the Wesenitz Valley.
1877 - Construction of a sandstone gravity dam with a weir approximately 4.80 m high above the water level and a millrace to power machinery in the Weber and Niezel wood pulp mill and cardboard factory using water power transmitted via belt drive.
