On the way to Massanella you can e.g. as on this hiking route komoot.de/tour/163162272?ref=wtd make a detour to the Puid dén Galileu. If the weather is good, you have a great view of the Tramuntana and the plain.

The road ends at the foot of Ses Voltes d'en Galileu. The toponym refers to the bends that the path takes to overcome the 250 meters of difference in level and to the nickname of the person who built it, Antoni Català "Galileu", who in 1692 undertook to "make and again build some houses of snow in the mountain called la Mola located in the area of Lluc or Scorca". The snow house had to be erected quickly, since the following year it was already in operation. This was definitively abandoned in 1908.

Just at the beginning of the turns, on the right hand side we can see the first of the snow houses, that of Son Macip, considered one of the oldest, because already in 1619 it is recorded that "there was snow in Son Massip". This facility for collecting and storing snow was one of the first to stop working. In the scrutiny of installations in 1786 it is stated: "On the Son Masip estate that belongs to Don Franco. Pizá and another one that is completely Ruined and the place is useless ... it is ... Ruined.”

So far we have gone along a cart path which are old dirt roads built for the forestry transport of coal, firewood...and with an average width of 2.5m, with supporting margins of dry stone and cobblestones, and now we begin to walk along a horse-drawn carriageway which are old, narrower paths, suitable for the passage of animals or beasts of burden with beasses (glossary) or with other similar load-bearing implements such as arganellos and scorbells (glossary). They used to measure between 6 and 10 feet (between 1'56 and 2'60 m). They can also be called the path of beast, of bast or of seven palms.
