Best Hikes to Pas de n'Argentó

Tips

  • I had a really hard time, but at least you can get by without any climbing skills. You should definitely bring sturdy shoes and a portion of courage.

  • Only for hikers who are free from giddiness and sure-footed

  • There's something resembling a path only in the lower area. Further up, there's a bit of climbing, but anyone in the area should be able to handle it without any problems. Technically, older children can handle it. However, falls should be avoided. It's significantly less frequented than the main route or the path via the Font de s'Avenc.Archduke Ludwig Salvator mentioned the pass in his work "The Balearic Islands" (c. 1884) and referred to it as "Pas de n'Argentó." He described it as the best crossing on the western side of the Puig de Massanella, which is likely due to its being the only one accessible to normal hikers.
The name "Argentó" may derive from the Old Catalan word "argan," meaning "stony terrain."
