Between 1985 and 2011, part of the castle was used as the upscale Restaurant Isenburg, featuring an outdoor dining area suitable for film sets, located directly on the moat. The restaurant earned a good reputation.
After the restaurant closed in 2011, an orchard with old, local apple varieties was planted between Isenburg and Johan-Bensberg-Straße. Once ripe, the apples are free for anyone to pick.
