On the Beinn Eighe Mountain Trail, you'll pass a striking geological fault, a fault line in the Earth's crust where rocks have shifted past each other. This fault is visible in the terrain as a striking transition: from a smooth, light quartzite plateau to a steeper, darker rocky landscape. The contrast in rock and vegetation reveals how underlying geological processes, such as tectonic movements, have shaped this landscape. The fault also serves as a visual landmark here.
