The loch's northwestern end is home to the Loch Maree Islands National Nature Reserve, an astonishing place to explore. Special mention goes to the island of Eilean Sùbhainn, which boasts its own little lochan with its own islands. Islands within an island in the heart of the Northwest Highlands, it doesn't get much more spectacular than that.
