The main building of KPB Mettmann is located on Adalbert-Bach-Platz. This place is named after Adalbert Bach. He was a member of the district police Mettmann and was shot on the evening of January 10, 1993 by fleeing petrol station robbers and seriously injured. He succumbed to his injuries on January 11, 1993, just days before his 33rd birthday.
