Mountaineering
In the context of mountaineering and the routes up Mount Antelao, "La Bala" refers to a specific and characteristic section of the Normal Route that leads to the summit.
The "La Bala" section is one of the first sections where the Normal Route takes on a more mountaineering character, with sections of grade I and II. Although it isn't the most difficult part of the entire climb (which also includes the upper "Laste" and more exposed sections towards the summit), it's a section that requires some familiarity with the alpine environment and the ability to move on rock.
