Temporarily blocked at the bottom (26.04.20) with barbed wire due to the risk of collapse of the ruin.

    Update 04.04.2026:
The yellow diamond trail marker "Mahlweiher" of the municipality of Neukirch at the foot of the ruin still shows the way there (Ruine Ebersberg 0.2 km🙉). Apparently, the ruin was cleared of undergrowth in winter 2025/26, the barrier at the bottom has been trampled down.

Ebersberg Castle is the ruin of a hilltop castle. It was built by the Lords of Ebersberg and first mentioned in 1153. Around 1430, the castle was owned by Weißenau Abbey.
