Park Haffmans is an English landscape garden from the 19th century (6 hectares) and a piece of land in the Katteberg (4 hectares). The city bought the park from the heirs of Leon Haffmans, mayor from 1947 to 1979. Initially it was the property of Petrus Lambrechts, a notary in Hoeselt. With a view to a career in Bilzen, he bought a large piece of land near the Brugpoort on which he had a monumental villa with coach house and horse stable built. Mayor Hauben, the next owner and also a notary, turned the garden into a 5-hectare park.

The Park Haffmans or Demerpark is a municipal park in Bilzen, located along the Demer in the southeast of the city. The garden, now a park, is laid out in the English landscape style. This park was originally the garden of a notary house, owned by the Haffmans family. This house, in neo-rococo style, is still privately owned. The park also contains the Bilzermolen, a watermill on the Demer. Further upstream along the Demer is the Katteberg nature reserve.
