In the 18th century, the church was remodeled in the Baroque style. Fragments of ceiling paintings from this period have survived; the Assumption of Mary is attributed to Martin Johann Schmidt (Kremser Schmidt).
In 1784, Emperor Joseph II dissolved the monastery. The church was deconsecrated and subsequently served as a button factory, granary, theater, cinema, and fire station. In 1891, a mezzanine floor was installed, creating a museum space. Apartments and workshops were housed in the former monastery.
