Best Mountain Biking Routes to Pfitscherjochhaus / Passo di Vizze Refuge

Tips

  • In the Zillertal Alps at an altitude of 2,246 meters lies the Pfitscher Joch, an Alpine crossing that connects the rear Zillertal valley with the South Tyrolean Pfitscher valley. The border between Austria and Italy runs directly on the Joch. On the Italian side is the Pfitscher-Joch-Haus, a summer refuge with overnight accommodation and special offer for bikers.

  • If it's not foggy, there is definitely a great view of the valley. From Schlegeis Speicher it was a bumpy ride here, sometimes with sliding routes.

  • Unfortunately, the ground is very loose. With normal MTB you need a lot of stamina and strength to drive the way - therefore more of a sliding piece 😒, but the return trip is all the better for that 😊
