On the oldest known plan of the patch Visselhövede from 1704 the triangle between market - large street - street At the city hall with three buildings is built up. These were destroyed in the great fire of 1795.

Owner was the merchant Heidemann. Heidemann, Ehlers and Brand rebuilt smaller buildings immediately after the fire. Here was made brandy.
Later, the distillery was relocated to the "Eulenkamp". Only the sale remained in the "manor house": main entrance 1st door left.

The present town hall must have been built about 1796. It was originally a small half-timbered building.
