Strictly speaking, the Werkgraben pond does not exist, but the Werkgraben does. It is a small, artificially created watercourse in the Berlin district of Berlin-Buch. The name historically derives from the "Städtische Zentrale Buch", the then technical supply works for the huge hospital city in Buch, which was built around 1900. The works supplied the clinics with heat, electricity, and hot water. The Werkgraben flows into the Schlosskanal at this point.
