Within the cross-border Barnim Nature Park, large landscape areas in the vicinity of Berlin-Buch have been designated as protected areas in recent years. Together with the West Barnim landscape protection area in Brandenburg, the Buch LSG, which stretches from the Karow district to the northern city limits of Berlin, forms a large, connected system of protected areas.

In the middle of the approximately 870 ha Buch LSG is the Bogenseekette and Lietzengrabenniederung nature reserve. Part of the nature reserve belongs to the Hobrechtswald. The Bogenseekette is located in the Bucher Forest.

Beautiful winding paths and overgrown trails. Mosquitoes lurk in the Log Dam section. The cattle pastures by the ponds can only be crossed at the few gates in the electric fences. It is definitely worth the little test of courage.

A quiet nature reserve not far from Berlin and directly accessible by S-Bahn. Best suited for a Sunday trip to escape the city. There are a number of lakes, partly surrounded by forest.

Next door you can have lunch in the village of Buch, although the choice of restaurants is limited.

The castle park in Buch is also worth a short walk - right near the S-Bahn station.
