Latsch Castle / Laces
Latsch Castle, from the 13th century, was the seat of the Lords of Annenberg (the only moated castle in the Vinschgau). In 1770 the castle burned down completely; the tower wing was renewed in 1842.

Latsch Castle in the village center was first mentioned in 1297 and was likely built by the Tyrolean Count Meinhard II. Until 1313, the castle served as a court, after which it changed hands through inheritance. The medieval building was surrounded by a moat that encircled the five-story living space. Today, the castle is privately owned.

The medieval castle of Laces. The original structure probably dates back to the end of the thirteenth century. The castle has been owned by several families and was destroyed in a fire in 1770. What you see today is the result of a massive restoration work.
