A watchtower used by the GDR border troops above the borderland museum Eichsfeld. The tower was a command post responsible for a 16.9-kilometer boundary. From the pulpit, the four-man crew was able to control the border closely and make out any refugees quickly. The tower is located on a hiking trail near the borderland museum Teistungen.
