The Zurich Opera House is located in the center of the city of Zurich at Sechseläutenplatz. The building was called the city theater until 1964 and has since been called the opera house. It opened on October 1, 1891 and can accommodate 1100 people. The Zurich Opera House has been led by artistic director Andreas Homoki since 2012, succeeding Alexander Pereira.
