The Marian Grotto in the small park between the Church of St. Hippolytus and the parish office is a Lourdes Grotto because the cave-shaped shrine made of white stones contains not only an image of the Virgin Mary, but also, to the left of it, an image of 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous, adoring her, to whom the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared repeatedly in 1858. The power of faith is testified to by small votive tablets on the walls. Some read: "Mary has helped."

Hiking

The Catholic parish church of St. Hippolytus was built between 1843 and 1846. It is dedicated to the church father and antipope Hippolytus of Rome (170-235). Its medieval predecessor was first mentioned in 1275. This medieval church was originally built in the log cabin style from whole tree trunks. This "Baumenkirche" (tree church) gave the village its current name (and is also depicted in the town's coat of arms). Böhmenkirch therefore has nothing to do with settlement by people from Bohemia.
