The ostriches are very interesting animals and also very curious. If you like ostrich products, worth a tour here anyway. The ostrich meat is excellent and almost without fat. The store is open Fridays from 9am to 12pm and from 1pm to 6pm and Saturdays from 9am to 12.30pm.

The ostrich birds originated about 55 million years ago in Central Asia.

From here they spread, as fossil finds prove, to Western Europe. The ancestors of today's ostrich immigrated to Africa about a million years ago.

When the ostrich in Europe was eradicated, or had no more habitat, is not known. Even around 10,000 years ago and similar climatic conditions as today, large numbers were at home in the Vienna area anyway.

The first art brood at the ostrich succeeded in 1850 in Florence. In South Africa, the animals have been kept on farms since the 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, ostrich breeding spread almost worldwide.

In the last 15 years, especially since the meat of the ostrich has come to the fore, ostrich breeding has become worldwide bosch-lindenhof.de/ueber-den-strauss.html
