The Col du Herrenberg lies on the Route des Crêtes (D430) between the Markstein and the Col de la Schlucht, below Le Schweisels or Schweiselwasen. The Refuge Ferme Auberge Huss is located there. From there, one has a beautiful view to the west into the neighboring Vosges department, into the Thur valley with the village of Wildenstein and Lac Kruth-Wildenstein, as well as to the western Vosges Mountains rising up the mountain.
