The second highest of the Vosges mountains is at 1,363 meters at the same time the highest point to reach on asphalt point of the mountains. Although it is at the entrance only a short spur road that branches off from the famous route of the Crêtes. But the view from Hohneck is worth it.

The view up here is heavenly (in the truest sense of the word - it's not higher on the road bike). On the one hand, the mountain is quite jagged and a challenge, on the other hand, if you take the route of the Cretes, make sure you do not just look to the right - otherwise it can easily happen that you can Road overlooks. This can easily happen, because here are massive cars and the driveway can be hidden - at least, if you come from the north.

The highest point of the Vosges that can be reached with the RR, quite steep but worthwhile detour (especially quite short), a real summit trip :)
