  • Do you know Siegfriedsdorf? Not really? That's right, that's not possible. For in 1427 a Hussite army reached the small town and devastated it completely. Only a chapel fragment and a fountain are reminiscent of this site. In the 12th century, the settlement was built above the monastery Marienthal at Ostritz. Siegfriedsdorf stretched along a small stream near the present federal road 99. From the mountain peace, a bumpy parking lot, you reach the former site after only five minutes walk.Until 1855 there was still field, then the monastery forest was created and expanded.
