The Maasheggen form the oldest cultural landscape in the country. It is the most extensive hedge landscape in the Netherlands, where a mosaic of hedges, meadows, drinking pools and old pollard willows have provided a safe haven for a special variety of plants and animals for centuries. In this relatively small area on the border between North Brabant and Limburg, thousands of years of history come together. A beautiful area for walking and cycling enthusiasts!

The centuries-old Maasheggen landscape is unique in Western Europe. Nowhere else is there such an extensive contiguous hedge area as in the Land van Cuijk.
