Today is the second day of the Dutch Mountain Ride. From Bemelen to Maastricht and Eijsden. Then back to Vaals. Many altimeters made by the many climbs. Some are quite tough, but also beautiful gravel roads with beautiful views over the hilly landscape.

    1. Last year I walked the Dutch Mountain Trail, this year I'm doing the bicycle version: Dutch Mountain Ride. This one also has all 7 summits, but the route is different from the hiking route.

I start in Vaals and it takes two days, about 65 km per day. It is a beautiful route with many gravel roads. Only

    1. A nice walk on the Veluwe near Vierhouten. You will pass the Hidden Village. This is a former hideout in the middle of the woods from the Second World War. This is very special to see. There are a few huts constructed that you can enter. This gives an idea of how she used to live hidden there. Afterwards

    1. A not so long clog path for after work. About half of the path is paved, which is a shame. I walk counterclockwise and then have the paved part first. This goes through the surroundings of the Oldenaller estate and through the castle forest. After that it becomes more beautiful and you walk across farmland

    1. A gravel ride in the vicinity of Mill, Wanroij and Sint-Anthonis. The ride is from gravelrides.cc and is very beautiful. Very varied and many gravel roads. Beautiful stretches along the Defense Canal where the beavers have kept well. Unfortunately we didn't see any beavers, but we did see a lot of gnawed trees.

    1. A nice walk through the Munnikenland. A large and beautiful nature reserve where the Waal has free rein. Also an open area with many views over the Waal and the floodplains. Also a tour around Loevenstein Castle and take the ferry across the Afgedamde Maas to Woudrichem. After a tour through the beautiful

    1. It was a cool night, but manageable with a good sleeping bag. Today we drive back via the Sallandse Heuvelrug. Again a varied node route. Today coffee with cake at Café Cozy in Hellendoorn.

    1. With bicycle and tent we ride from Emst to Diffelen. We mainly follow the nodes. Cross the IJssel with the ferry at Wijhe. There we go for coffee at 't Praothuus. We sit there in the sun with a nice piece of apple pie. The route is varied, forests, heaths and meadows. We set up the tent at De Klashorst

    1. A beautiful and varied gravel ride from Goirle to Netersel and back. Varied landscape with forests, heaths and meadows. Not so many gravel roads, mostly sandy and forest paths. Gravel ride is from gravelrides.cc
