It will be dry this afternoon, so still take a walk on the Maashorst.

A gravel ride that was organized a few weeks ago by TC Woensel. Then I didn't, so now I drive it myself. I start just outside Eindhoven and so I first have to go through the center. It's still early so luckily it's still quiet. After the center you leave Eindhoven along the Eindhovensch Kanaal. You follow this for more than 10 km, but it is never boring. A nice gravel and sandy path, with beautiful trees in autumn colors. Then you drive through the woods to the Strabrechtse Heide. A beautiful nature reserve that you can cycle through for a long time. There is also a shepherd with herd which looks nice. Via Heeze and Waalre you first arrive at the Tongelreep and a little later through the Dommeldal. Via Zandoerle I drive back to the starting point. It is a beautiful gravel ride. Almost no asphalt (except of course the part through Eindhoven and Veldhoven). Lots of sand and forest trails and lots of nature. I will drive it more often.

A nice walk from Waalwijk to the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. It starts with a path along Drongelens Canal and through the Baardwijkse Overlaat. Then through the woods to the dunes. In the dunes you have to struggle through the loose sand with beautiful views. Then back through the woods to Waalwijk.

A gravel ride through the Maashorst towards Uden and Veghel. This is a shortened version of a tour that was organized earlier. On the edge of the Maashorst I saw 2 hikers free a young deer from a sheep fence. The deer is completely attached with its legs and head. The three of us carefully try to free the deer. That works and the young deer runs back into the forest. The ride has beautiful parts through the Maashorst. I don't like the part around Veghel, but the way back is also beautiful.

A walk through an area I've never been before. From Loon Op Zand through the woods of the Loonse and Drunense Duinen. But then you cross the N261 and continue through Land Huis Ter Heide. It's very quiet there, I don't see anyone there. You walk alternately through forests and heathland. I come to a family of Highlanders who are relaxing on the trail. I carefully walk around it.Then you come to the Loonsche Heide. An open area with fens and grasslands with a beautiful deck path over the water. A disadvantage is that you see high-voltage pylons and windmills everywhere. Doesn't matter which way you look. Here again many Highlanders standing and walking on the path. It is a nice open area.

Once a year we go kayaking with the canoe club on the Binnendieze in Den Bosch. Always a wonderful experience. In the dark under and through the city.

Another ride from gravelrides.cc. Now on familiar territory, De Maashorst. Still drove some roads that I didn't know before. But I didn't like the route. Still quite a lot of asphalt roads, especially in the vicinity of Zeeland and Langenboom. But nice cycling.

Another walk through the Veluwezoom. I walk from Dieren station to Velp station. At Dieren you will soon find yourself in the woods. There you will find many wide and straight beech and oak avenues. Now in the fall it looks beautiful. Via the Carolinahoeve you walk towards the Posbank. There you walk a bit over the heath. The sun is already shining beautifully. The route continues through the woods towards Velp. You also follow the Beekhuizense Beek for a while. That is a nice walk, although it is more park-like than real nature. Just before the station you pass and over Landgoed Billjoen. You can return to Dieren by train. A three-hour walk from Dieren to Velp, and a 9-minute train ride back.

A piece of nature still unknown to me in the vicinity of Nijmegen: Nederrijk. A nice walk through this area. Many wooded hills and rolling meadows. Of course also many beautiful views over the hills. The walk also goes over Duivelsberg and follows parts of the N70.

Another very nice gravel ride from Gravelrides.cc. This is the short variant from Vught and goes over the Kampina and back via the Esschestroom. I hoped that the sun would continue to shine, but unfortunately dark clouds soon appeared. Fortunately, it stayed dry for almost the entire ride.It is a very beautiful route. The route does not have much asphalt. Many avenues of gravel or sand with trees that now have the most beautiful colors. The Kampina also always remains beautiful. And it was surprisingly quiet now. Back just in time before it got dark.
