The Old Town is the historic heart of the city. Located within the medieval city walls ("intra muros"), it boasts narrow cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries, and well-preserved fortifications with towers and city gates.

Sights include the Église Saint-Malo, the Couvent des Cordeliers, the Place des Merciers market square, and the harbor on the Rance River, which is accessible via a steep staircase. The Old Town exudes an authentic medieval atmosphere.
