Micklegate House in York is a significant Georgian residence, completed by 1752, and known for its opulent interior details and architectural style. Built as a town house for John Bourchier, it is said to have been designed by John Carr, though this remains unconfirmed. The house has a rich history, passing through various owners and tenants over the centuries, including the Bourchier family and the Crompton family. It was later used for business purposes, and many of its fittings were moved to Treasurer's House.
