it looks impressive. From the small Stoltenpark you can look at it in peace. And who would have thought that: underneath the building is the largest water retention basin in Hamburg.

In the district of Hammerbrook there is an impressive office building made of steel and glass on Anckelmannsplatz - the Berliner Bogen.
An excellent piece of Hamburg architecture was created in Hammerbrook and the Berliner Bogen lives up to its name: the building stands out not only because of its curved shape. As a sculptural object, the Berliner Bogen embodies the juxtaposition of water and city. The building spans the end of the kilometer-long flood basin over a length of around 140 meters. On the two banks, the steel arches arch up to a height of 36 meters in a parabolic shape over the canal. After a good three years of construction, the office complex was opened at the end of 2001. Hamburg BRT architects Bothe, Richter and Teherani are responsible for the Berliner Bogen.hamburg.de/berliner-bogen
