As part of the 23rd Rotenburg Potato Market, this sculpture, depicting the market's mascot, was unveiled on October 4, 2008, on one of the sandstone pedestals of the Geranium Bridge. It was designed by the sculptor Erich Gerer based on a design by the Knolli (Butterfly) creator, Holger Roselieb. The idea had existed since 1999, but was only realized in 2008 through the initiative of the international Rotenburg regulars' table of the "Mistböcke/-bienen" (Muckbucks/Bienen) and many donations from the city's residents.

All who visit the "Bronze Knolli" can take home a portion of good luck by rubbing the sculpture's nose.
