There used to be another mill right next to the well-known Obermühle. It originally bore the name Walkmühle der Wollweberzunft - known today as the color mill, since it was used to produce color from 1882. Work in the mill was only stopped in 1966. Then the mill fell into disrepair and was never rebuilt.
In 2005 a mill wheel was erected on the site of the former mill as a symbolic monument to the former mill.

Cycling

The Walkmühle (fulling mill) in Limburg an der Lahn was originally a fulling mill, later converted into a dye mill. It is located in close proximity to the Obermühle (upper mill), a historic building now used as a restaurant. The waterwheel of the former fulling mill was restored in 2005 and now rotates on the Lahn River, next to the historic Obermühle (upper mill).
The area around the Walkmühle and the Obermühle is a popular meeting place for locals and visitors. Especially in spring, you can enjoy the sunshine and experience the atmosphere of the historic mill landscape.
