Legend, story, legend:
The annual 10-church pilgrimage route of the parishes of St. Stefan and Latschach leads past here (on the last Saturday in May). One of the stations is at the church.
The pilgrimage route was initiated by the parishioners of St. Stefan-Finkenstein and is also called the "Finkensteiner parish hike".

Almost nothing reliable is known about the life of Saint George, to whom the church of Faak am See was dedicated, but the veneration of him stretches back to early Christianity. A martyr who is equated with George is said to have lived in the third century.
The legend of Saint George as a dragon slayer is very well known and widespread, and he is usually depicted in paintings or as a statue as the conqueror of the monster.
The memorial day of the very popular George - he is, among other things, the patron saint of the English kingdom - in the calendar of saints is April 23rd.
