How does a Limburg mill end up on the beach of Sint-Anna?
Historical explanation: This standard mill was built at the end of the 18th century (after 1775) in Kwaadmechelen (province of Limburg). From the time it was built, the mill was owned by the Geuens family.
In 1883, the mill was sold to Juliaan Velghe-Van Roy, conductor of bridges and roads in Beringen; he was also the owner of another windmill in Kwaadmechelen (Molen Engelen, an octagonal wooden smock mill). In 1903, the mill passed into the hands of the Zels family (hence the name "Molen Zels").
