Bike Touring Highlight
With over 110 square kilometers, the Müritz is the largest lake in northern Germany. No wonder, then, that his name, which comes from the Slavic, means "little sea". For nature lovers, the Müritz is just the thing, whether you come for cycling, hiking or swimming.Part of the eastern shore belongs to the Müritz National Park, which you can explore by bike or on foot. Outside the national park you will find on the banks of the Müritz again and again beautiful swimming spots, which have either a sandy beach, a jetty or sunbathing. Most swimming areas are free and it is guaranteed to be the right one for everyone. There are dog beaches, nudist beaches and shallow water shores that are perfect for families with children. Those who prefer to swim supervised, can dodge on a beach. However, all bathing areas have one thing in common: the wonderfully clear water of the Müritz.
