Previously, the churchyard was the center of the Medushsky Stan, which existed as early as the 16th century and was part of the Vladimir district. Not far from the churchyard there was a road from Vladimir to Yaropolch and Nizhny Novgorod. The Medushsky Stan received its name due to the presence of rich beekeeping lands on its territory, from where honey was delivered to Vladimir and even to Moscow. The stone church was built from 1820 to 1854 according to the will of the landowner Grigory Mikhailovich Drozdov with the efforts of his great-grandchildren, lieutenants Nikolai and Alexander Efimovich Andreev, as well as parishioners.
