Beautiful manor house on Hemmelmarker lake. Unfortunately not open to the public

Gut Hemmelmark in Barkelsby is only three kilometers from Eckernförde. From 1894 the estate served as a country residence for Prince Heinrich of Prussia. He had the manor house built in the English country house style. Today the estate is privately owned and very open to filming. The mansion is rarely used and is therefore very suitable as a motif. The kitchen already served as a backdrop in "Fürst und das Mädchen". The side buildings are rented out as residential units. The spacious park borders directly on the 82 hectare Hemmelmarker See. There is a swimming area on the bank.ffhsh.de/de/film_commission/location_guide//Location/133921/Gut-Hemmelmark

The Hemmelmark estate has a mutual history behind it. At the beginning of the 20th century, Prince Heinrich of Prussia was named after the cap of the same name, which Helmut Schmidt, former chancellor of the FRG, also liked to wear.
