The parish already existed in the 12th century.
The original Romanesque building, in very poor condition, was demolished in 1854.
Some tombstones were saved, while others were demolished or used as doorsteps or steps.
The new stone and brick church was designed by Dejardin, an architect from Braives.
It features funerary stones from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, the very interesting 15th-century stone baptismal font (with the coat of arms of Burgundy), a beautiful polychrome oak Malinese Virgin and Child from the late 16th century, a Virgin on Calvary, and a Saint Barbara from the first half of the 16th century.
Also noteworthy is a beautiful rood screen whose balustrade is dated 1746 and a listed organ (circa 1720).

The riches of the Notre-Dame parish church are found in its furnishings: a holy water font with a basin with human heads and a 15th century baptismal font, a series of statues from the 15th, 17th, and 18th centuries, and wooden stalls. Many objects were donated by Herman of Burgundy (1587-1621), including the bell (1595). This neoclassical-style building, made of brick and limestone, was built in 1854. During this walk, do not hesitate to pass through the cemetery gates because it contains a number of funerary monuments of rare beauty.

The cemetery and the steps to the church in particular exude history. The church itself was closed when I visited.
