On Zamkowa Street in Kazimierz Dolny there is a boulder commemorating the action of Major Hieronim Dekutowski's unit "Zapora", which on May 19, 1945 destroyed the local Citizens' Militia station. The commemoration pays tribute to the fight against the communist regime for a free Poland. Dekutowski, a silent and unseen partisan commander of the Home Army and WiN, led numerous armed actions, first against the Germans, and after the war against the communists. Arrested in 1947, he was murdered after a brutal investigation in 1949 and buried in the "Ł" section at Warsaw's Powązki Cemetery.
