This imposing building is the Hermitage of Santa María de la Villa de Martos, located in the upper, old part of the city of Martos. She is the town's patron saint, and on this occasion, the procession of Holy Week floats was held there, as we are at the threshold of Holy Week.
This building dates back to the 16th century, following the Christian conquest of the city. Although it was partially destroyed during the Spanish Civil War, hence its neo-Baroque style, which was later remodeled.
